About Seymour's Window Washing

Aaron Seymour came out of five years as an officer in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps, looked at the window cleaning trade in Boise, and saw a gap worth building a company in.

Who you are hiring

Family owned, at Boise size

Aaron is married, lives in Boise, and built this company from nothing with no business background behind him. Family owned is not a line in the marketing here, it is the actual size of the operation.

That is the whole reason the basics hold. A company this size cannot hide behind a call center or a dispatcher, so the standard on your property is the owner's standard. Customers notice it without being prompted: one of them put veteran and family owned in the same breath as showing up on time and taking pride in the work.

How it started

Not the usual background for this trade

Aaron holds a BS in civil engineering. He earned a professional civil engineering (PE) license and a PMP certification, then spent five years as an officer in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps.

Getting a civilian job afterwards was surprisingly hard. Military experience does not translate cleanly into what employers say they are looking for, and he had already been turning over the idea of building something of his own. He is an independent thinker, and he likes solving a problem the most efficient way it can be solved.

Home services made sense. It was a simple business model he could actually understand, which mattered, because he came to it with no business background at all.

Why windows

He picked this trade on purpose

A low barrier to entry, so it did not take much money to start. Recurring work, where a client stays a client for years. Simple enough to learn, and he picked it up fast. And a gap in the market he could see clearly.

His description of that gap is blunt. A lot of guys in this trade fall short on the basics: show up late, show up dirty, cuss in front of customers, do not answer the phone, cannot communicate. Some take advantage of people. No branding, no social media.

So the plan was never complicated. Do the basics properly, every time, and let that be the difference. It is also why the company is built around a standing schedule rather than one off jobs.

How we work

The basics, every single time

None of this is clever. It is what Aaron learned in the military, applied to a trade where it turns out to be unusual.

On time, or early

Showing up when we said we would is the floor here, not a feature we expect credit for.

Clear communication

Aaron and his technician are both good at talking with clients. Not answering the phone is one of the things he built this company against.

Honesty and integrity

Both came out of the service, and neither got left behind when he took the uniform off.

Very high attention to detail

Thorough, to the point that customers raise it in reviews on their own, without being asked to.

We flag what we notice

If we spot something else going on around your home while we are there, we bring it up to you.

Good manners in your home

Clients and real estate professionals are comfortable leaving us to work in their homes and their listings.

What it adds up to

Veteran owned opens the door. It is not what keeps people

Across 481 Google reviews at a 5.0 average, what customers write about on their own is the detail work. The competitors ahead of that count have been at it for a decade or more. One review reads the veteran angle exactly right, and it is worth reading straight.

Their business is a veteran owned business. For us that's a reason to initially hire them. But the quality of the work is the reason they will get our repeat business.
