Canyon County · Across the county line
Window Cleaning in Nampa, Idaho
Nampa is in Canyon County, the one city on our map across the county line. What the line does not change is the water, which is hard and aquifer fed, or the standard of the job, which is the same one we hold in Boise.
Where Nampa sits
The one city on our map in Canyon County
Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Garden City, Kuna and Star all sit in Ada County. Nampa does not. It is over the line in Canyon County, and that is the honest difference between this page and the other six in the set.
What we are not going to do is guess at the rest of it. You will not find us claiming a standing day of the week on your street, because that is a promise we would be inventing. Ask us for a date and you will get a real one rather than a hedge.
Nothing about the visit itself changes across a county line. Same technicians, same methods, same habit of turning up when we said we would. You can read how the company is built if you want the longer version of why that matters to us.
What is actually on your glass
Aquifer water in town, iron on the edges
The valley as a whole runs hard to very hard, roughly 6 to 15 grains per gallon depending on the zone and the source. Where that mineral comes from, and what it does once it dries on a pane, is set out on the service areas page. What is worth adding here is the source, because Nampa's is not Boise's.
Nampa's supply is aquifer fed, so the story here is simpler and less variable than it is across the county line: hard, and hard fairly consistently, rather than shifting street to street. Either way, sprinkler overspray on hard water leaves spotting, and spotting left long enough etches the glass permanently.
Out past the subdivisions, in the rural pockets, plenty of homes are on private wells. Wells add iron and manganese on top of the hardness, and iron-rich irrigation water oxidizes into orange staining rather than white haze. It shows up on glass, on stucco and on concrete, and homeowners usually notice the driveway before they notice the windows. If that is what you are looking at, start with hard water treatment, and expect us to talk about your sprinkler heads as well as your glass.
The job in front of us
Ordinary suburban windows, and that is good news
Nampa is standard suburban glass. No original divided light sashes to work around pane by pane, no estate elevation to solve before anyone touches a squeegee. The variable out here is water, not architecture, which makes the work predictable and the quote straightforward.
The glass itself
Ordinary residential panes take a normal wash and detail well. Exterior cleaning is where this work usually starts.
Mineral spotting
Light hard water spots get treated and removed during the visit where we can. Heavier staining is a bigger job and we say so.
Screens
Screens sit in the same overspray the glass does. Screen cleaning is part of the service, not an upsell at the door.
Tracks and sills
Sliders collect grit and mineral crust at the bottom. Track detailing is the part people forget and then notice.
Inside as well
Interior glass is a separate pass with its own care taken indoors. See interior window cleaning.
Gutters, while we are up
If your gutters need doing, ask when we book rather than after we leave. Gutter cleaning is easier to combine than to revisit.
What we are not going to do
We will not name your subdivision at you
There is a version of this page that lists Nampa neighborhoods we have never worked in and quotes a customer who does not live here. We did not write that one. We do not have a wall of Nampa reviews or a folder of before and after shots from your side of the county line, and we are not going to borrow either from another town.
What we can point you at is the whole record instead of a curated slice of it. Read the reviews and judge the standard, then decide whether you want that standard applied to your house. It travels.
If you are the kind of homeowner who would rather this happened on a schedule than whenever you remember, the Seymour Shine Subscription brings us back on a standing schedule rather than whenever you remember. On hard water in particular that cadence is the point: spotting gets treated while it is still light, which is exactly where the treatment works.
Straight answers
Questions we get from Canyon County
The three questions everyone in the valley asks about hard water, including why some staining comes up orange, are answered once on the service areas page. These are the ones specific to Nampa.
Do you cover Nampa?
Yes. Nampa is the one city on our map in Canyon County rather than Ada, which is worth knowing when you call, but it is on the map all the same. Ask us for a date and you will get a straight answer rather than a maybe.
Is Nampa water harder than Boise water?
Both are hard. The difference is the source. Boise blends river water with aquifer wells, so hardness there varies from one neighborhood to the next, while Nampa's supply is aquifer fed and more consistent. We quote hardness as a range rather than an exact figure for any one city, and the reason why is set out here.
Do you have photos of work in Nampa?
Not yet, and we would rather say that than pass off a job from another town as yours. When there are Nampa photographs to show you, they will be on this page.
