Window cleaning in Star, where the water comes from your own well
Wells are common in Star, and a private well is not a blended city supply. It hands you hardness plus whatever else is in the ground, which usually means iron. That is the one thing we can tell you about Star glass before we have seen it.
Well country
Hard water is the valley's problem. Iron is the well's
The whole valley runs hard, and we publish that as a range rather than a figure for your street. The full explanation of why, and what hardness does to a pane, sits in one place: Treasure Valley water.
What a well adds on top is iron and manganese, sometimes sulfur. Iron oxidizes once it dries in the sun, so it does not leave the white haze that plain hardness leaves. It leaves orange, and not only on the glass. Stucco and concrete take it too.
Sprinklers are the delivery system. A head aimed a few degrees off puts well water on the same panes several times a week, all season, which is why hard water treatment is more about timing than about product.
No report to look up
Nobody publishes a water quality sheet for your well
A municipal supply is measured by somebody. A private well answers to no blend and no schedule. Whatever is in the ground under your place is what comes out of the head on the lawn.
Which means we read the property instead of a document. Orange on the concrete near a head, a chalky band low on the panes the sprinklers reach, glass that looks fine at noon and hazy at a low sun angle.
Those tell us what we are dealing with. They also tell us whether the marks will lift during a standard exterior clean or whether it is further along than that, and you get told which it is before anything is booked.
We ask, we do not assume
Your house, not a house we imagined from the ZIP code
We do not pretend to know your place before we have seen it. What we ask is short: how many stories, how the glass is divided, whether anything sits high or over a slope, and whether there are outbuildings you want done at the same time.
We ask about the screens and the tracks as well. A clean pane behind a dulled screen still looks wrong from inside, which is what screen cleaning is for. The runs below a slider collect whatever the window sheds, and that is track detailing.
On mineral, frequency beats effort. Treatment works best while the buildup is still light, so the standing visits on the Seymour Shine Subscription do more for well water glass than any one heroic clean.
Straight answers
What Star customers ask first
The water questions are answered for the whole valley on the service areas page. These three are the ones a Star address raises on its own.
Do you really come out to Star?
Send the address with your quote request and you will get a straight answer. If it is inside where we work, you get a real quote and a real date. If it is past where we work, you hear that from us plainly rather than after a week of waiting on a call back.
Do you have photos or reviews from Star?
Not yet, and we would rather say so than pass off a job from another town as yours. As the work out here grows, so will the pictures and the names.
What do you need from me to quote?
Your name, number, address and email. Mention whether you are on a well or on city water, because that one detail tells us most of what we need to know. We start with a virtual quote and talk it through with you before anything is booked.
