Washed by hand · Boise and the Treasure Valley
Screen Cleaning
Removal, handwashing, frame detail and reinstalling. Your screens come out of the window, get washed by hand, and go back in clean. It is one of the things customers name in reviews, right alongside the frames, tracks and seals.
How it is done
Removal, handwashing, frame detail, reinstalling
That is the entire service, in Aaron's words. Four steps, in that order, on every screen we take out.
Removal
Every screen comes out of the window. Removal is the first step, before anything is washed.
Handwashing
Each one is washed by hand. That is the step the whole service is named for.
Frame detail
The frame gets detailed too, not just the mesh. Same attention the window frames and sills get.
Reinstalling
Then they go back in. Putting them back is part of the job, not something left for you to sort out.
What people actually notice
The short list that keeps coming back
Read enough of the reviews and the same specifics repeat: frames, tracks, seals, edges, screens. Not the glass. Screens are on that list every time.
"They do all the seals. They do all the screens absolutely wonderful." · Madeleine Havener
"Clayton came and was so quiet and efficient, brushed the screens, and they look simply amazing." · Marta Paulson
"Matt went above and beyond getting a painted-on screen off without damage to the screen or frame." · Shari Vaughan
What it goes with
Screens are one line on a longer list
In the reviews, screens almost always turn up in the same sentence as the windows. On the Seymour Shine Subscription, screen handwashing is one of the add-ons you can put on a visit.
Exterior Window Cleaning
Full scrub down, polish and detail of all exterior window panes, frames and sills.
Interior Window Cleaning
The same inside, by hand mop, pads, squeegee and microfiber towels.
Track Detailing
Windows opened fully, sliding panes and the track insert out, track vacuumed and scrubbed, then everything back.
Seymour Shine Subscription
A standing schedule at a better rate per visit than a one-time clean. Screen handwashing is an add-on.
Worth knowing up front
Before you book
Is screen cleaning part of a window cleaning?
It is its own service. A window cleaning covers the panes, frames and sills. Screens get removed, hand washed, frame detailed and reinstalled on top of that. On the Seymour Shine Subscription, screen handwashing is one of the add-ons for a visit.
Are they really washed by hand?
Yes. Handwashing is the service. Each screen comes out of the window before it is washed, and the frame gets detailed as well as the mesh.
Can you do the tracks at the same time?
Track detailing is a separate service. We open the windows fully, remove any sliding window panes and the track insert, vacuum and scrub the track clean, then put everything back. If you want both, mention it when you get in touch.
What about hard water spots?
That one is about the glass rather than the screens. Some windows develop light hard water spots over time, and when possible we treat and remove them at no extra cost during your service. Heavier mineral stains may need a more advanced restoration service. More on the hard water treatment page.
How do I book it?
A phone call or a text, or in person if that is easier. If you use the form, we need a first and last name, a number, the address and an email, and we start on a virtual quote from there.
