Included in your service · Not a separate booking
Hard Water Treatment
Some windows develop light hard water spots over time. When possible, we treat and remove these spots at no extra cost during your service. Heavier mineral stains are a different job, and we will say so plainly rather than leave you guessing.
What we are treating
The spotting a towel will not touch
Hard water spotting is not dirt sitting on the glass. It is mineral left behind after water dries on the pane, which is why wiping it harder does nothing at all. Some windows develop these light spots over time, and most people notice them as a haze rather than as something that happened on a particular day.
When possible, we treat and remove those spots at no extra cost during your service. There is no line for it on the quote and no conversation about it at the door. It is part of doing the glass properly, the same way the frames, sills and tracks are.
Straight about the limits
What the treatment will and will not do
Most companies leave this vague. We would rather you know before we arrive, so nothing about the finished job comes as a surprise.
Light buildup
This treatment works best on lighter buildup. Caught while the spotting is still light, it comes off during the visit.
No extra cost
When we can treat spots during your service, we do it at no extra cost. Nothing gets added to the total for it.
When possible
We say when possible and we mean it literally. Not every pane gives its spotting up during a normal visit, and we will not claim otherwise to win the job.
Heavier stains
Heavier mineral stains may require a more advanced restoration service. That is a different scope of work, not something we quietly fold into a clean.
You hear it from us
If we see glass we cannot bring back in the visit, we tell you. If we notice something else going on around your home, we bring that up too.
Part of the clean
There is nothing separate to book. The treatment happens inside an exterior or interior window cleaning.
Why regulars stop seeing spots
Treated while it is still light
The Seymour Shine Subscription brings us back on a standing schedule rather than once in a while. Removing hard water stains is on the list for every visit, alongside polishing the glass and cleaning the frames, sills and tracks.
That is the whole argument for the plan on this particular service. Spotting gets treated while it is still light, which is exactly where this treatment works best, and the treatment stays free. Every visit carries a 48-hour quality guarantee and a 7-day rain guarantee, and per visit the plan is a better rate than our one-time price.

Questions we get about spotting
Does the treatment cost extra?
No. When possible, we treat and remove light hard water spots at no extra cost during your service.
Can I book hard water treatment on its own?
No, and that is deliberate. It happens during a window cleaning rather than as a standalone visit. Book the glass, and the treatment comes with it wherever we can do it.
What if my spots are further along than that?
This treatment works best on lighter buildup. Heavier mineral stains may require a more advanced restoration service, which is a separate scope of work. You will hear what we are looking at either way.
Why will you not promise every spot comes off?
Because we cannot promise it honestly. Some glass comes back completely and some does not, and we would rather set that expectation before the visit than explain it afterwards.
Is it included in the Seymour Shine Subscription?
Yes. Removing hard water stains is on the list for every visit on the plan, along with polishing the glass and cleaning the frames, sills and tracks.
How do I get this booked?
Call or text, or send the quote form with your name, number, address and email. We start with a virtual quote from there.
