Track Detailing
We open the windows fully, remove any sliding window panes and the track insert, vacuum and scrub the track clean, then put everything back. It is the part of a window you cannot reach with the window shut.

The part that only opens up if you open the window
The glass gets cleaned. The frames and sills get cleaned. The track underneath is the piece that stays shut, so it keeps whatever lands in it: grit, dust, dead bugs, leaf litter, and on some windows, moss growing in the channel.
You cannot get at all of it with the window half open, which is why this is a service of its own rather than a line on somebody else's. Exterior window cleaning covers the panes, frames and sills, and interior window cleaning does the same inside. Track detailing is the one where the window comes apart.

That is the whole service in Aaron's own words, and the order is the point. None of it is a shortcut for reaching in with a cloth.
Open it up
The window goes all the way open, then any sliding window panes and the track insert come out. That is what puts the whole channel within reach.
Vacuum
The loose material comes out first: grit, dust, leaf litter, whatever has blown in and settled over the years.
Scrub the track clean
What the vacuum will not lift gets scrubbed, along the channel and into the corners, where it packs in hardest.
Put everything back
The track insert goes back in, the panes go back in, and the window closes up the way we found it. Putting it back together is part of the job.

Is this included in a window cleaning?
It is its own service. Exterior window cleaning covers the panes, frames and sills, and interior window cleaning does the same inside by hand mop, pads, squeegee and microfiber towels. Track detailing is the one where the window comes apart: panes and track insert out, the track vacuumed and scrubbed, then everything back.
Do the tracks get done on the Seymour Shine Subscription?
Frames, sills and tracks are on the list of what a Shine visit includes, alongside polishing the glass and removing hard water stains. The plan puts the glass on a standing schedule, at a better rate per visit than a one-time clean. If your tracks want the full detail, say so when you get in touch. Do the screens come out as well?
Screen cleaning is a separate service: removal, handwashing, frame detail and reinstalling. On a Shine visit, screen handwashing is one of the add-ons. Ask for it with the tracks and we will quote both together.
Will the windows go back together properly?
Yes. Putting everything back is part of the service, not an afterthought. The track insert goes back in, the panes go back in, and the window is closed up the way we found it.
